Landscape Design

A real plan for a real Florida property — native plants as the backbone, edibles where they earn their place, and honest horticulture from the first drawing to the last.

$750–$2,000 · design fee credits toward installation

Every design we produce starts on your site, not on a template. We walk the property, look at what's already thriving, note the sun exposure hour by hour, dig into the soil, and understand the drainage. Only then do we start choosing plants.

The deliverable is a scaled site plan, a complete plant list with the reason for every species, a phasing plan if the project is large, and a written narrative that explains what we chose and why. You can hand this plan to any competent installer. Most clients want us to build it too, and that's when the design really becomes the thing we intended.

What we design

  • Full property redesigns — native + edible landscapes replacing turf-heavy ornamentals
  • Food forests and backyard orchards
  • Native pollinator gardens and meadow conversions
  • Salt- and wind-tolerant coastal landscapes
  • Vegetable garden layouts integrated into the larger landscape

Why the design costs what it costs

A one-page nursery sketch is free at most garden centers. It's also worth what you paid for it. A real design considers 20 years of plant growth, seasonal light change, hurricane resilience, soil biology, and how the space actually functions for you. It saves you money and heartbreak on the install and every year after.

Common questions

How much does a design cost?

Most designs land between $750 and $2,000, depending on the size and complexity of the property. That fee is credited toward the installation if you engage us to build it.

What's included in the design?

A scaled site plan, a complete plant list with rationale for every species, a phasing recommendation for larger projects, and a written narrative that explains the choices.

Can I install the design myself, or hire someone else?

Yes. The plan is yours. Most clients ask us to install it because we've vetted the nursery stock and know how the plants want to be set — but the document works on its own.

How long does the design process take?

Typically 3–6 weeks from consultation to a delivered plan, depending on scope and your feedback pace.
