Edible Fruit-Tree Care

Florida fruit trees are demanding. Hot humid summers push disease pressure. Sandy soils leach nutrients. Alkaline pH locks up minerals. Our program is the rhythm that keeps them productive.

Monthly program · scoped per orchard

The rhythm

  • Granular feeding — every 3 months. Balanced organic fertilizer with full minor elements, applied at the drip line and watered in.
  • Foliar spraying — every 2–4 weeks in flush season. Zinc, manganese, iron, copper, boron delivered directly to the leaves. The single biggest lever for fruit set in our climate.
  • Pruning — twice a year. Major prune after harvest to keep trees short, open, and airy. Light corrective prune in early spring.
  • Organic pest & disease management. Targeted only — neem, horticultural oil, Bt for caterpillars, copper for bacterial disease. No broad-spectrum sprays.
  • Mulch monitoring. 3–4 inches of coarse organic mulch, refreshed as needed, always kept off the trunk.

Why the rhythm matters

Miss any one of these and fruit set drops, disease pressure climbs, and the tree spends its energy on stress instead of harvest. The program exists so you don't have to remember any of it.

Common questions

How often do you visit fruit trees?

Monthly rhythm for most orchards. Granular feeding is quarterly; foliar sprays run every 2–4 weeks during flush and bloom; pruning is done twice a year. The monthly visit ties it all together.

Is this organic?

Yes. Organic granular fertilizers, organic minor-element foliar sprays, and targeted organic pest management only when needed. No broad-spectrum sprays that would wipe out the beneficial insect population.

Which trees do you cover?

Everything we plant and most trees we don't — mango, avocado, jackfruit, lychee, banana, papaya, carambola, guava, loquat, mulberry, fig, tropical cherry, and citrus by scope.

Can I start this program on trees you didn't install?

Usually yes. An initial site visit lets us scope what shape the trees are in and where they need to go.
