Process

Four stages, from first walk-through to lifetime care.

A Longleaf project is a relationship, not a transaction. Here's how the stages unfold — and what each one asks of you.

01

Consultation

$250 on-site walk-through, credited toward your design.

We meet on your property. You show us the site, we ask the questions that matter — sun exposure, soil, drainage, HOA constraints, how you actually use the space, what you want in ten years. You get real horticultural feedback on the spot. If we're the right fit, we scope a design engagement. The $250 fee credits back.

02

Design

$750–$2,000 typical, depending on scope. Includes revisions.

We produce a real plan: a scaled site drawing, a plant list with rationale for every species, a phasing recommendation if the project is large, and a written narrative that explains the design choices. This is the document you can hand to any competent installer — but most clients want us to install it too.

03

Installation

Starting at $15/sq ft — real horticulture in the ground.

Mounded planting where required. Proper soil amendment based on what's actually there. Healthy nursery stock we've vetted. Mulch installed to spec — not against the trunk. Irrigation zoned so young trees survive their first year. We stay after install to make sure the plants take.

04

Ongoing Care

Garden Care and Fruit-Tree Care programs available.

The design keeps working because someone knowledgeable keeps working it. Twice-monthly hand-managed care for vegetable gardens. Quarterly-plus visits for larger native landscapes. Monthly rhythm for fruit-tree feeding, foliar sprays, and pruning. No broadcast spraying, ever. See the Garden Care page for how the program is priced and structured.
