Rooted in horticulture. Planted for the long term.
Longleaf Design was founded by Cam [LAST_NAME], a UF-trained horticulturist who spent years under a landscape architect before starting his own firm. The name comes from the longleaf pine — the tree that once defined this land, and the kind of long-view thinking we bring to every design.
Cam's story
Cam studied horticulture at the University of Florida and worked professionally under a landscape architect before founding Longleaf Design. That combination — the science and the craft — is intentional.
Most Florida landscape work skips both. It defaults to ornamental palettes that were never meant to be here, maintained by crews that solve every problem with the same herbicide. The plants die. The homeowner replaces them. The cycle repeats.
Longleaf exists to break that cycle — with native and edible landscapes that get better every year, cared for by people who know the difference between a firebush and a fire ant.
